Two women, believed to be in their 20s, were left critically injured this morning following an alleged gas explosion at a mobile fast food container on Earp Street in Booysens, south of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene at 09h47 to find the two women lying outside the container. It is understood that the two women had been pulled from the containers by members of the public.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that both women had sustained numerous burn wounds and were in a critical condition.
The patients were treated for their injuries, provided with advanced life support interventions, and were thereafter transported to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
