Reports emerging now has it that newly sacked coach, Kgoloko Thobejane could be joining Kaizer Chiefs to assist Steve Komphela.

There are concerns over the future of Steve Komphela as he draws close to the end of his current campaign and he could be given more years to work with the local coach.

Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has confirmed the sacking of  head coach, Kgoloko Thobejane this morning.

Thobejane has been on suspension at the Limpopo outfit, following the team’s 2-0 loss against Free State Stars last month. MacDonald Makhubedu, who has been Thobejane’s assistant, has been in charge of Bakgaga on a caretaker basis.

Thobejane was  shown the door after appearing at a hearing at the club, for allegedly drinking on the job. He failed to show up for his hearing last week, but was present for the one yesterday.

“Yes, we have released him. This time he showed up for the hearing,” Mphahlele tells HINNEWS.

Makhubedu has been in charge of five matches since Thobejane was suspended and is yet to suffer a defeat.

Mphahlele recently told said that the former Acornbush United coach has an opportunity to prove himself in the position and will now have until the end of the season to show he can take over in the long run.

“He will finish the season. We think he can do well. He has done well and we have not lost in the last five matches, so we will give him until the end of the season and then we will take it from there,” Mphahlele says.

Now it remains to be seen if Chiefs would work with the newly sacked coach or appoint a new coach.
