Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has stated that he is concerned over the team’s defence.
The Soweto giants have conceded 11 goals from 12 Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches this season.
Micho, who is in his second stint as Bucs head coach, explained that the team’s way of play makes them run the risk of conceding goals.
“We have a team that plays football in our own way, we are risking, we are not sitting back and trying to close,” Sredojevic was quoted as saying by The Citizen .
Bucs could not keep a clean sheet during their 2-1 win over Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night.
They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three matches, but the win over Polokwane took them to the top of the league standings.
“Our badge and history is obliging us to be offensive, and when you are offensive it is normal that you are likely to concede,” he continued.
The Buccaneers have kept only two clean sheets from 12 matches, while scoring 16 goals in the competition.
The former Al Hilal Omdurman head coach admitted that they need to find a way to fix the problem as they challenge for the PSL title.
