Kaizer Chiefs might be regretting letting a star off their hook as he resumes training with rivals.

Ayabulela Konqobe has reportedly started training with PSL new boys Highlands Park after ending his trials with Chiefs in a bid to secure a deal.

The 22-year-old defender is yet to kick a ball since leaving Chippa United earlier this year, with his last competitive fixture coming in April as the Chilli Boys were beaten 2-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Gerald Baloyi, of Vodia Players Management And Marketing, confirmed the news, explaining that Konqobe had been given some time to try and impress Owen da Gama as he seeks to secure himself a deal with the Lions of the North.

It remains to be seen how long Konqobe will be given to leave a mark on Da Gama and his technical team, although his status as a free agent means that the club is in no rush to make a decision.
