Orlando Pirates midfielder Meshack Maphangule is set to make a move to Chippa United on loan, while Phetso Maphanga looks set to join him.

Maphangule joined the Buccaneers from Black Leopards before the start of the new season, but has not been able to break into the starting line-up on a regular basis.

He has made three appearances in all competitions this season, two of which have come in the Absa Premiership, while the other came in the CAF Champions League against Light Stars of Seychelles.

The Media has been informed that the player will make a loan move to the Chilli Boys and reunite with coach Joel Masutha, after they worked together at Lidoda Duvha.

Maphanga, meanwhile, has been watching most of Pirates’ matches from the stands since joining them in January from Chippa. The 25-year-old, who can play at left back or further up the field on the wing, has made one appearance this season, for 58 minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic.

Before joining Pirates, Maphanga was one of Chippa’s star performers and attracted interest from the Buccaneers.

There are a few more players who are likely to leave Pirates in the January transfer window, such as Justice Chabalala, Thabo Matlaba and Diamond Thopola.
