Tomorrow, Thursday 27 September 2018, the DA in the Western Cape will address the continued shortcomings and failures of the national South African Police Service (SAPS) which are leaving Cape Town and the Western Cape at the mercy of crime.
The briefing will cover the recent “Shutdown” protest, the SAPS response and the pitiful engagement Minister Cele held earlier today in Bonteheuwel.
The DA has long highlighted the critical under resourcing of SAPS in the province, and it is high time that this be assessed. The DA’s plan for a professional and honest SAPS which serves and protects will also be detailed.
The briefing will be assessed by Alderman JP Smith, Cape Town Mayor Elect Dan Platoand Councillor Angus McKenzie.
