On Sunday, 22 April 2018, Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader, Mmusi Maimane, will be in Gwatyu, Eastern Cape, meeting with over 1500 residents who have been denied ownership of thousands of hectares of land on which they have lived for decades.
The ANC government still owns the land, and continues to deny land ownership and empowerment for those who have lived and worked that land for generations, keeping them as tenants on their own land.
Maimane will announce the DA’s plan of action to ensure the people of Gwatyu are afforded the dignity of owning the land they live on.
Maimane will be joined by DA Shadow Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Thandeka Mbabama MP, DA Shadow Minister of Agriculture, Annette Steyn MP, and Constituency Head, Terri Stander MP.
Details are as follows:
Date: Sunday, 22 April 2018
