Nemesis caught up with a reckless and indisciplined Hawk officers who was caught lining his pocket with money recovered from a criminal.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), tyhe convicted  Warrant Officer Lucas Mosoane, a Hawks member, was, on Thursday, sentenced to 18 months for theft at the Tlhabane Magistrate’s Court

Police spokesperson, Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso, revealed in a statement that the judgement was handed down to Mosoane based on the irrefutable evidence laid against him.

The convict served under the Directorate of the Priority Crime Investigation, led a team of colleagues in an operation to search for drugs at a suspected house in Phokeng, Rustenburg on 21 April 2017.

It was when the search team was inside the house, trying to locate evidence tying the suspects to allegations of drug operations that there were rumoured to be active at that address, that Mosoane was caught stashing a bundle of money into his pocket.

Mosoane stole  R3 700. Captain Rikhotso confrimed to the press.
